The last 13 Estate 1 blocks of land in the 1250-dwelling South Jerrabomberra community being developed by Village Building Company will be auctioned on Thursday (12 May).
Village says these are some of the best blocks in Estate 1 and feature north-facing backyards with views across to Canberra and Queanbeyan.
Independent Property Group will auction the elevated blocks, ranging from 600 to 660 square metres, on-site at Speargrass Road, South Jerrabomberra and online at 1 pm.
IPG Executive Director Wayne Harriden said strong demand was expected for the generous lots which offered exceptional lifestyle benefits about 15 minutes from the centre of Canberra.
“There are impressive plans in place for this whole area, with walking and mountain bike trails, the Regional Sports Complex and a high school coming soon, making this a particularly appealing location for young families,” he said.
“With over half of Estate 1 now settled, we are seeing construction of houses helping prospective buyers envisage what their future home might look like. The lots on offer in Stage 1E will settle this financial year and Stage 1D by October 2022.”
Village says South Jerrabomberra will set new standards for community amenity and provide lifestyle opportunities within walking distance not seen elsewhere in the region.
Village CEO Vince Whiteside said it was exciting to see South Jerrabomberra come to life with homes now under construction and the first residents have moved in.
He said construction was about to start in the Town Park and Community Centre.
The Town Park will incorporate a splash park, learn to ride facility, community centre, outdoor gym, formal and nature play spaces and a village green, as well as a 3.4 ha dog park set in 6.5 ha of parkland.
There will also be outdoor dining opportunities on the Town Park where restaurants are planned.
The new Town Centre is expected to become a magnet for both South Jerrabomberra residents and those from the surrounding area with a good connection to nearby Jerrabomberra.
Mr Whiteside said the proximity to the Regional Sports Complex, which can be accessed via a shared path network, would also be a bonus for residents,
Queanbeyan and Palerang Regional Council is building the Regional Sports Complex which will contain six playing fields, an aquatic centre and a 3,000 seat indoor stadium.
“Because South Jerrabomberra is a new suburb, we have been able to think very carefully about what the community might value in their neighbourhood and work closely with Council and our development team to make that a reality,” Mr Whiteside said.
South Jerrabomberra won two awards at the Civil Contractors Federation Earth Awards last Friday (6 May).
Mr Whiteside said it was recognition of the excellence in Civil Construction achieved for the current stages that are completed and released.
Prospective buyers can visit the Estate via Environa Drive, which was opened to the public in December.
The blocks being auctioned are pegged and open for buyers to inspect and walk on.
