Simon Corbell has annunced the release of the Curran report into Legal Aid in the ACT and apparently it’s going great guns.
(Perhaps evidenced by the DPP getting monstered by Legal Aid lawyers when it comes to murder charges.)
“This report highlights the excellent standard of services provided by Legal Aid ACT, and that quality legal assistance is available to those who need it most.
“Legal Aid ACT scored consistently well across all of the report’s outcome indicators, including good practice, early intervention, empowering clients and a holistic service, illustrating the outcome from sustained commitment to providing high quality legal aid services.”
Mr Corbell said the report would inform public debate and guide policy development, which could further enhance Canberra’s quality legal aid services.
