Let’s Get Loud! For Women’s Rights

The irresistable Melanie Poole has sent through details about an upcoming conference:

‘Let’s Get Loud’ is a conference that will bring together NGOs, academics and students to

tackle critical issues in women’s rights. We will provide a deeper understanding of the

global and Australian context in which attacks on women’s rights occur.

Over the course of one day attendees will be able to attend speeches, panels and workshops

designed to inspire, engage and motivate. When the conference ends they will have the

networks, skills and mentors that are needed to take real action in advancing women’s


Keynote speakers include Anne Summers AO and Professor Hilary Charlesworth.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to undertake workshops with journalist

Clementine Ford and author and founder of the Australian Youth Climate Coalition Anna

Rose, among others.

When: 9am-5pm, 22nd April 2013.

Where: Headley Bull APCD Lecture Theatre, at the Australian National University.

Cost: $15 students, $30 nonprofit and community sector workers, $40 full-time wage

earners (includes catering). Tickets are available at letsgetloudanu.eventbrite.com.au.
