funeral on Northbourne

Yesterday the funeral of Liang Zhao took place. After a private ceremony at the crematorium most of those assembled went to the murder site on Northbourne Avenue.

Assisted by the AFP to the site where the body was found, monks performed a very short ritual to settle the soul of the departed and offerings were made.

I hope the family has counselling, preferably with Homicide Victims Support, from Sydney, Canberra do not have support for a heinous crime such as this, the counsellor’s are out of their league here, although it will never bring their loved one back,
The two creature’s who murdered him in cold blood, will be put away for a long time, I’m sure they were on ice, who in their right mind would do such a horrific crime as this for a few dollars, and a Mobil phone.

Hahaha! “will be put away for a long time”….
I believe that when I see it. As you also prefectly stated in your post: “Canberra do not have support for a heinous crime such as this”, and that includes the courts.
They’ll get 15 years! (cough, with-a-non-parole-of-2,-taking-into-account-time-they-have-already-served-while-waiting-for-trial). i.e will most likely be out before you know it.
That’s how it seems to work here. 🙁 That makes it even sadder.

The murders didn’t just kill a young guy, they destroyed the whole family – Liang was the only child of his parents and his wedding was supposed to be held next month.

Justice must run its course this time.

Its always a such a shock and will remain so. Justice is quite apart from the aftermath of a murdered family member. Justice doesn’t undo anything. The poor family. So sorry.

Extremely sad and shameful. Hopefully justice runs its course and the family is able to find peace.

I am so very very sad and sorry.

This is a day of shame for our community.

And for the DHCS, and to a lesser extent Centrelink

I am so very very sad and sorry.

This is a day of shame for our community.

I agree with all the posts above and my sincere condolences to his family and friends. Such a waste of life.

I hope that his family now find some peace. Its a tragedy that he has died so young.

Very dignified and fitting.

Condolences to Liang Zhao’s family and friends. I trust they know that the vast majority of the community are shocked and appalled about what happened to him.

i hope on behalf of canberra i can say to these people how truly horrifically sorry we are for this awful, awful thing

Our sympathies are with Liang and his family on this saddest of days.
