The Canberra Times reports that the alleged killer in Braddon last week has fronted court, but cannot be named.

The killer allegedly stole $21 and a mobile phone from 27 year old Liang Zhao.

The matter is back in court in October, the accused has not applied for bail.

I’ve been told the two scumbags came from the public housing flats across the road, so these predators saw the victim walking along the footpath, and decided to take the machete and baseball bat, premeditated. They deserve everything that’s coming to them.

Agreed. Based on what I have read, i am inclined to believe they are guilty, but, I prefer to wait on the judgement of a court rather than joining the lynch mob *ahem* ‘rest of the choir”

Hmmm… again you try to make something outy of nothing.

There has not been a single call for these scum not to have a proper trial.

There has not been a single call for these scum to be lynched immanently.

There has not been a single call for these scum to be denied due process.

It’s very poor form for you to try to blame everyone else for your inability to grasp the concept of; “blindingly obvious things which do not need stating.”

But there again, you also quote 278 words of other peoples posts, resulting in a huge post, and give a five word reply to it. 🙂

Bwahahahahaha! Thanks, I needed that laugh! 🙂

Seriously though, even looking at the basic facts we’ve been given, it doesn’t take a rocket surgeon to join the dots on this one. But, by all means, let’s postpone the conversation until it is proven ‘beyond reasonable doubt’. Then people can talk about what they do or do not deserve, with no complaints…?

That way I can save my lecturing on the fundamental legal principle of innocent until proven guilty and devote my time to arguing against captial punishment if they are indeed found guilty.

‘k thanks.

Well seeing as it was only you who who didn’t seem to accept “*If* they are guilty” was a given, you could save yourself a lot of heartache by singing with the rest of the choir.

Most of us thinking people accept that is a given.

If you wish, I’m sure we can spell it out for you each time we post, so’s you don’t get all upset about it again.

I agree. I think that once they have crossed a certain point, they relinquish any ‘human right’ they had. It’s a shame we don’t have a penal system similar to that in the movie “Papillon’ – French Gyana club med!!!

Yeah, they probably arrested them for the fun of it and it is all a mix up! (Can’t help my sarcasam this time I am afraid!)

Would this also be a good time to revisit the whole trying of someone as an adult or child debate? At 17 years old there should be little doubt this mongrel knew what he was doing.

Yeah, and let’s just execute them now, and save the expense of a trial.

If you want to try a 17yo as an adult, and name them in court, then perhaps you should also give them the vote, and the right to buy alcohol and cigarettes. etcetera etcetera.

MHW

Yeah, we should definetely support this scum bag’s human rights. Who was supporting Liang Zhao’s as he walked down a public street when this disgusting creature decided to take his life FOR 21 DOLLARS AND A PHONE.

Seeing as you’re a big proponent of human rights let’s talk about them. This poor young man was violently murdered and he will never vote again, never have to right to buy alchohol or cigarettes ‘etcetera etcetera’. In fact, he’ll never be able to fulfill any of the hopes and dreams he held because his life was prematurely taken by a person who had total disregard for anything other than his needs or wants. This teenager was old enough to commit an adult offence and he’s old enough to face adult consequences.

I always find it very disconcerning to hear so many expressing the view that human rights are something that needs to be earned or deserved.

Human rights are balanced by human responsibilities. If you abandon the latter, do not expect the former.

I hope these two will be kept away from the community for a long time as they clearly pose a danger to others. But I do not wish them to be treated like animals.

Me neither, animals deserve compassion, these scum do not.

Well said – they don’t!

Hard to know a human right when you have never had one. II doubt they would know what they are.

But human rights are something to be earned in a case like this. When these two idiots stole Liang Zhao’s money, phone and life they gave up their right to be treated as human beings.

However, I am sure that they will probably get reduced sentences because of some BS they spin in court to a judge who is out of touch just like the kingston murder trial.

can I nominate them both as the first two targets for the person wanting to buy guns on Canberra’s ‘Black market’ – see other post. A trial is too good for these scum.

Will you please stop blowing the cover on my plan??

I agree for 21 bucks how horrible. My heart goes out to his family and friends. And I hope they get the book thrown at them, poor man. But of course they will get away with murder with some pitiful excuse and eye for an eye I say.

Now the Cops have pulled the two arseholes who did this can I nominate them both as the first two targets for the person wanting to buy guns on Canberra’s ‘Black market’ – see other post. A trial is too good for these scum.

My heart felt condolences to the family and friends of Liang Zhao. I sincerely hope that they in time can learn to deal with this heinous event. I think that people should also realise that it is not only the family and friends that are immediately affected by these despicable crimes. Spare a thought for the person/s who are/were the “public tip off”. There is also the poor people who found and reported the find to police. What about all the other people who had to deal with the after effect of this terrible event, ambulance officers, mortuary staff and so on. Another avenue that comes to mind is that of the parents of these two “animals”. There has been much comment about how they may have been poorly treated or raised and that they were not loved. It could be that they have parents and families that through no fault of their own now have to live with the knowledge that their children have done what most people only ever see in extreme horror movies.
I will not be surprised to find that there was no ‘Ice’ involved in this lowest of acts. Ice it would seem is a major problem in and around the area of Braddon (one of which I must admit I was ignorant of), but I am sure that there is also a problem with alcohol, marijuana, heroin, and prescription drugs as well. It would be uplifting to see more posts of support and hope for the family and the people who had no part in this unfathomable event, and less mud slinging and name calling. It does have a place I can not deny, but so does kindness and support.
I hope that I have not stereotyped anyone in this post, and that I have not come across as a naive fool. I may be, but I would like to think that there is still a place in this world for compasion.

No no no, that’s all wrong. You are leaving out the vital detail he sometimes uses drugs and had an oh-so-terrible upbringing.

BAM! acquittal.

As mentioned in the Police report, I’m also assuming another person was involved. Surely you’d need some sort of group ‘feeding frenzy’ mood to be so violent, instead of just mugging a guy and running? I imagine all will be revealed in due course.
