Justin Monfries has made it into the Canberra Times for copping an assault conviction for bludgeoning his girlfriend’s head while he held her to the ground.

He’ll be eligible for parole in April, although by then one hopes the matter of killing the nurse Linda Cox outside of the hospital while on bail in a stolen car will have been dealt with.

If I was his girlfriend I wouldn’t have stayed around long enough to cop a second flogging. It would’ve been goodbye, farewell and amen, have a nice life.

I like your policies, can I vote for you?

Here’s hoping he picks up AIDS in gaol.

That wont kill him if that is what you are after……

Lead poisoning is far more effective. Very targeted lead poisoning.

Any chance of a jury trial?

Given he’s been charged with manslaughter and culpable driving trial by Judge and jury is mandatory.

You rang? 🙂

Indeed i have an important task that requires your particular expertise.

The pathetic thing is he was out on bail awaiting a hearing for the first assault when he did the second one, and he was out *again* on bail after the second one when he did his hit and run (in a stolen car) – only a month later. Can anyone spot the slight flaw in the ACT justice system here??
BTW, sorry about mentioning the hit and run. I didn’t mean to bring that up! I’m supposed to refer to him as a ‘serial traffic offender’ who has ‘an extensive criminal history, mostly consisting of driving matters’ who has been ‘on remand since May on unrelated charges’….

Yep another deserving candidate for the wadcutter.

“The court heard the defendant had a troubled child-hood and a long-standing drug abuse problem .. The court also heard he admitted faking a suicide attempt so he could get moved from the Alexander Maconochie Centre to the psychiatric services unit”.

what a f***ing deadbeat … no words.
