Local Libs give up on community donations

ABC Online has an interesting story on Liberal restructuring of their local fundraising having purged Jim Murphy from the 250 club (but not from his party membership).

the Liberals are set to unveil a new fundraising venture, to be called the Burley Griffin Forum.

Party president Gary Kent says the forum will target corporate donors and will be launched next week by Prime Minister John Howard.

Can’t convince anyone to pony up their own hard earned so now trying to tap the holders of “other people’s money” with some help from a great and powerful friend who refuses to live here??

Interesting. I imagine Walter Burley Griffin would be appalled at this use of his name.

aye, I was only making a suggestion.. Didn’t look too far into it 🙂

I’m sure there’s a number of hidden little funding holes out there – big brother looking after little brother springs to mind as well

Mael – given we are talking about the local party, not likely to see farmers donating to the ACT Libs. It would be interesting however to sift through the AEC listed donors though.

Anyway, Libs never have a chance against that marvellous ‘chocolate wheel’ called the Labour Club and a few bob from the Union movement.

double tap the say it! button and this is what you get…

Bonfire, Farmers kickbacks and the chamber of commerce ring a bell

Bonfire, Farmers kickbacks and the chamber of commerce ring a bell

the ALP get large amounts of dough from unions (automatiacally, ive never been asked if im happy for my $$ to be spent that way) and locally, the labor clubs. i have no idea how the libs can compete with that steady cash flow.

my invite must have got lost in the mail,

could you send me a copy?

Anyone else get their invite to the Lib fundraiser at the Hellenic Club? How many thousand dollars to sit at a table with a five foot prick?
