LinuxPR has this story of Pascal Klein winning the Linux Australia People’s Choice Community Member of the Year award.

The 16 year old Canberra student was selected from the Australian Linux community for his “dedication to the community and work with a number of different projects, combined with his youth and obvious enthusiasm” and will attend the linux.conf.au in Dunedin next week.

You mean SGS missed out????

Yeah, the .au in the name has obviously been extended to include areas that “might as well be australia as far as the rest of the world is concerned”. I don’t mind – I get a free trip to NZ out of it 🙂

Last time I checked, Dunedin was in .nz not in .au

Or is there an .au Dunedin ?

Speaking of Linux experts though, if there is a resident Linux expert who regularly reads RA and would like to have me bug them all the time, and on the odd occasion make housecalls, please email me, or say hi via my blog…

I’ll pay for computer services in beer, at the standard rate of a 6 pack an hour.

Good on him. Speaking of linux.conf.au, any other RiotACTer’s heading over to attend this year?
