Hancock Basement – ‘One In A Million Does’ from Jordan Prosser on Vimeo.

Holy Moley will you look at the production values on this thing?! Really raising the bar for music videos in the local scene!

If you like the song it’s available for download on soundcloud.

It’s also worth noting Hancock Basement is supporting You Am I at The Maram in Erindale on 24 November.

Nice work lads. And since when did a music video have to make sense? The weirder the better.

Agreed. This is really, really cool.

The only issue that I saw that is a bit of a ‘amateur hour’ move is out-of-sync slow-motion. It looks like plain slow-motion at 25fps as opposed to the technique that should’ve been used: speeding up the song during playback and filming at 33, 50 or 75 fps, then slowing it back down to 25fps in post.

I also noticed the distinct lack of a Focus Puller (although it could be intentional ‘slow to focus’ but I don’t think so… or just a lousy FP).

Apart from that, the story, extras, props, lighting (although a little more could’ve been done), dolly work and editing more than make up for it considering this video was done on more of a shoe-string budget than most pop-artists’ $10k-$20k shoe-string budget.

I’ve seen worse music videos done for a lot more money. Nice work boys.

Yeah, very good on production. Glad to see the boys are doing well.

What the hell are you all talking about? That was utter bollocks.

A few lights used properly, and a decent camera. A little bit of effort goes a long way. Hopefully this will inspire more locals to go that one step further.

nice one dudes.

Excelent…very nice concept, rock steady camera work and a band who can actually make music.
