Ok, I’ll admit it… I’m a big girl’s blouse when it comes to my metal and I like stuff where I can make out the words.

But back in 2003 Canberra’s Psychrist were tearing it up with the other sort.

This video’s just surfaced on YouTube, posted by “defangthewolf” with the following note:

Psychrist – Abate the Chains of Rule (Live)
Canberra’s legendary death metal outfit Psychrist tearing it up at the Bloodlust Festival in 2003. Sadly, they broke up just prior to playing at the Metal for the Brain festival in the same year.

I started a metal club at the Transit a couple of years ago. Just as it started to get popular management pulled the plug, no reason given.

Basement for sure mate. There is a really good bunch of people that go there regularly, some of us even remember Zorro’s.

Is there a local metal music club in Canberra anymore?

I used to go out to the Terminus where they had bands playing, and practically lived in Zorro’s. 🙂 Would like to go to a place with that type of music if I ever got the time or inclination to go into Civic again.

Basement’s your best bet. Lots of metal gigs there. I don’t know about actual clubs though.
