Local Public Servants star in political ad

babysunshine 9 October 2007 46

Local people have been approached in a political ad about the growth of the Public Service in Canberra.

They seen to agree that there has been significant growth, and that the Kevin Rudds promise to unleash “razor gangs” is all talk!

See anyone you know in this?

Just slightly OT. Does anyone else think that the bird in the CPSU ad either is, or bears an uncanny resemblance to, the teacher from Summer Height High?

ah, yes. But his mind is quite solid on the issue.

But of course, we all are lazy fat f*ckers who drink coffee all day, get to work at 9.00, have a three hour lunch and leave at 3.30.

yeah right, in which world…

your mind seems quite solid indeed, barney – solid as a stone, and as dense…

what, exactly, is ‘plain to see’, and if it is so plain, please do explain…

Wow good argument you put up there Barney. Some mindless (possibly redneck) idiots gave their opinion on something they probably know very little about and now you also hate the Public Service? How old are you? 14? Obviously not old enough to come up with your own judgements based on substantial information.

Who the heck are the LDP? hahaha.

Step outside Canberra and ask people what they think of the Public Service. I’m not gonna say anything else. It’s quite plain to see. Debate it in your own mind. My mind is quite solid on the issue.

i rekkun ze means that after about december we will have had an election, the labor party will be in and cull the amorphous mass that is the current federal p.s. no???????????????????????

and barney, well said. o, hang on, people like you vote, don’t they? shucks. we’d be greatly obliged for some evidence of your assertions – i know quite a few p.s.’s and none of them are morons, nor carved from stone, nor have such shallow life ambitions – au contraire…

what, pray tell, are your own rich tapestry of a life’s ambitions, ol’ chum, eh? do tell, we’re all ears…

“We at least centrelink workers will be in a growth industry after about December”

We, I don’t quite understand what you mean???????????????????????????????????????

thetruth thetruth 2:54 pm 10 Oct 07

There is a wrong side???????????????????????????? We at least centrelink workers will be in a growth industry after about December

Lucica Lucica 2:31 pm 10 Oct 07

I have a feeling Barney’s only encounters with public servants have been from the wrong side of the Centrelink counter.

Thumper, there is no such word as “agreeance”. I wish everyone would stop using it.

Barney obviously lost his job in the public service and is bbitter and twisted.

hingo_VRCalaisV6 hingo_VRCalaisV6 1:00 pm 10 Oct 07

Nice moronic generalisation there Barney. How about I suggest you are a muslim and therefore you should be locked up and the key thrown away. Thats how rediculous your comment sounds, and I don’t even work in the PS.

barney barney 12:47 pm 10 Oct 07

The public service is full of pathetic morons carved out of stone. Their life goal is to stay in the one job for 50 years, drinking coffee, having 50 meetings a day to make themselves FEEL IMPORTANT whilst paying off their debt and being an EXTREMELY BORING bunch of bitterly twisted t0ssers. If you feel you are not enjoying the PS, I strongly recommend leaving before you become what you never were.

That’s all I can say. Sorry if I offended anybody. Or am I ?

PS: The video was lame. I’d be happy to see the public service killed off – just like the majority of hopelessly lame people that work in it.

astrojax astrojax 12:29 pm 10 Oct 07

more than the ‘stated aim’ of the ps – the first of the values for the ps enshrined in the act is to be apolitical…

but ps’s are still entitled to hold and express a personal opinion on all manner of topics – it is how these opinions might affect their actual workplace performance that could result in problems.

personally, i have a problem with public servants coming up with ways to promote the minister, or the party. election period or no.

sepi sepi 10:16 am 10 Oct 07

We only worry about being apolitical during the election period i mean.

sepi sepi 10:10 am 10 Oct 07

Yes but the stated aim of the public service used to be to be apolitical. In PR areas work that was seen as promoting the minister and not the department was flicked back to the minister’s office for their staff to do. Now we sit around brainstorming ways to promote the miniters. Times have changed a lot.

Now we only seem to worry about that during the election period.
