The LocalnLive component of 2xxfm are offering novel enticements to get you to give them money:

LocalnLive Radio on 2xxfm are running a crowd-sourced fundraiser to transform the daily music radio show into a multimedia platform for Canberra bands. Starting on 13 July 2012, LocalnLive and 15 local bands will launch a 5-week fundraising campaign where the community can pledge money for unique and creative ‘rewards’ through the innovative crowd-funding website, Pozible.

‘In a city bursting with musical talent, we have this huge gap,’ said LocalnLive Coordinator Sam King. ‘There is no place for all that great stuff to come together, for people to listen to local music, find out about the huge number of gigs that happen in Canberra every month, to discover great new music. LocalnLive wants to fill that gap, on air and online.’ Campaign Coordinator and local musician Bec Taylor says ‘Strong community radio in Sydney and Melbourne really drives the local scenes. What’s stopping us in Canberra? This campaign will share the great local scene that’s already there’.

With the funds raised from these amazing things (check the list, we’re not lying), LocalnLive will fund and equip a street team to audio record, film, and put on local music events, which will all be shared through LocalnLive radio and a strong content website.

Perhaps as exciting is that they’re putting a show on at the Polish Club on 13 July.

Will there be any further promotion leading up to the event?

Been a long time since one of these was run. A great opportunity to support local acts!

Now with link fixed.

I mean who wouldn’t want their face added to Matty Ellis’s tatts?

Worthy. Glorious. And I think tax deductible. I’ll take 4.
