Looking for Mick Scurfield?

By tottenham - 14 September 2010 5

Sorry Folks I am new on this and realise not any posts on people looking for people.  But any help appreciated.

I am looking for Mick Scurfied. Lived with Mick at Captains Flat and Yarralumla in eighties and nineties.

Then went to England for a few years. Last heard from him a few years ago and he was back in ACT.

Anyone knows him can you ask him to email Ham on ham.thfc@gmail.com.  Cheers.

What’s Your opinion?

Take a trip into the Electoral Office in Hobart Place in the city. If he is on the Electoral Roll you can find him that way. There’s two computer terminals there for public use, put his name in and see what comes out.

If you can’t find him, search by his surname, which doesn’t look that common, might find a close relative who knows where he is. You can search all of Australia, not just the ACT.

Most people don’t realise the Electoral Roll is a public record and anyone can access it.

The Electoral Office is on the first floor 8-10 Hobart Place, and as you exit the lift and walk into their office you will see a computer terminal on the left and one on the right in the foyer. Just sit yourself down at one of the terminals and use it, just follow the on screen instructions. You don’t even need to speak to any of the staff behind the counter, just walk in, use it, then walk out.

Alternatively the National Library holds all the electoral rolls from the most recent update back to Federation. Go downstairs to the newspaper reading room and as soon as you walk in, on the left is a cabinet with all the micro-fish. It’s divided into states, in alphabetical order with the most recent (2010) at the front. Best of luck.
