Looking for new members for our Book Club

Lovetobeme 23 March 2013 14

We run a fantastically enlightening and friendly monthly book club that is looking for new members, due to some members no longer able to attend.

We love to read and discuss literature and contemporary fiction.

We meet once a month at each others houses and it’s a good excuse to have a few nibbles and a glass of wine too!

If you are interested in joining our group please contact me on lucy999111@hotmail.com

It might be worth mentioning which suburb you guys meet in, or at least which side of town.

Daytime? Night time?

Book club will be night time. The members before were from all over Canberra, but the remaining ones live in the inner north. Where you live is no issue though, and we can meet in a cafe or quiet bar if you don’t want to open your house.

OT (a little) but I highly recommend this book to rioters – funny but poignant. Worthy of the Booker!

It was a great discussion, and a great book. Next book is very topical, The Great Gatsby, perhaps the greatest American Novel. Won’t see the film until I’ve read the book.

Do you only select books that are readily available in electronic formats? Clearly the Gatsby is one that is. I gave up on buying dead trees some years ago…

Do some poetry!

Anyone short on time could (if absolutely necessary) just skip to the final sentence, and reflect deeply on the wisdom therein.
