Looking for small office space

Hey all,

We’ve been on the hunt for office space for awhile now, and it is amazingly difficult or expensive here in Canberra.

Do any of you know of a small office space to rent with 24/7 hour access?

All we are looking for is a small room to fit two people in, preferably in the north side.

Thanks in advance!

Try these guys https://www.spaceful.com.au/ for any office requirements. They do end to end service for any office space. Highly recommend.

There used to be a small business park In Dickson and Waniassa where you could just rent rooms.

Like a serviced office – but not?

These sites are still operating but not run by that company any more, contact details are now

I have an office to sublet, unfortunately not 24 hr access, above Ainslie shops for $200 week including GST.
Here is the description of the office or they can view it under Commercial properties to let on either Gumtree or Allhomes.
Upstairs, Edgar Street, Ainslie Shops
1 clinical office space = 12sq office $200 per week (includes GST)

*Phone lines available

*Large windows, looking out over leafy park, treetops & Mt Ainslie, high ceilings

*Street facing pleasant outlook

*Easy parking

*Great location at busy Ainslie shops, very good exposure

*Aircon/heating, carpets, block out & see out blinds

*Access Mon-Fri. 8.30 – 5pm Not avail on public holidays or weekends

*The office would suit small private based firms, a community organization or allied health professionals

We rent in the Dickson Chambers in Dickson, Its not too badly priced and they have different sized units. There is 24 hour access but you need a swipe card to get in (LJ Hooker commercial don’t seem to mind giving them to us). It’s a very old building but right in the middle of the shopping area. Pretty sure they have a few empty units.

Servcorp run services offices in Barton and the St Gorge building in Civic. We used them in the past just for office space and if you need to use other facilities (ie meeting rooms, printing services, secretarial services) it was on a user-pays basis.
Not sure how pricey they are, but it does give you a very professional address and appearance and access was available 24/7.

Have you tried Regus on London Cct? They provide serviced offices with all infrastructure in place.

In the same (expensive) vein, there is also ServCorp in Civic as well as at The Realm in Barton. You can hire these ones by the hour – so work from home except when you need a meeting with clients, at which point you take a suite/meeting room at ServCorp for the morning or whatever.
I prefer the one at Barton – Reception really brightens up my day…

My partner and I have just settled on a property we intend to start using for a new business, but we want to first rent it out for six months. It’s available now.

It’s 88m2, has an open plan area and two offices. Building offers 24/7 access. The office is freshly pained and cleaned. It will be on All Homes (Rent, Commercial, Belconnen) this afternoon.

For a long time there was a sign in one of the first floor windows at the O’Connor shops advertising an office to rent – down near where the chemist is (or perhaps was … its been ages since I was down that way).

Assuming that your looking for low key professional services that doesn’t attract a queue of customers you could have a look at one and two bedroom apartments. I know that they’re not ideal but they’re often cheaper than commercial spaces of the same size. Technically I don’t think you’re supposed to run a business from them (other than a SOHO arrangement), but smart body corporates don’t seem to care – you’re mostly using the space at a time when everyone else is at work (so there’s a presence during the day), and you aren’t there making noise at night.

This one is from the residential section of all homes but I’m pretty sure it was built as an office.

price is pretty reasonable and you will have 24 hour access to it.

I imagine you’ve looked at the allhomes listings
http://www.allhomes.com.au/ah/act/rent-commercial/canberra/1039110
and some of them are pretty bloody pricey! Seems a lot of commercial landlords can afford to let business space sit there.

Abbott’s pogrom of Canberra will come as a rude awakening.

I think there’s space at the Cook shops for a small office tenancy.
