Help please i am looking for a Stone-grill in ACT I have found one at West Belconnen Leagues Club but that’s it has any one else found them hiding in the burbs. For those unaware stonegrill is the slab that gets heated up and you cook your own meat/fish to your liking.

What about the Kingston Hotel? It’s not “stonegrill”, but you do cook your own meat.

The damages to the bistro at the Weston Club near Cooleman Court are all repaired and Stone Grills are back on the menu. You can get chicken, steak, seafood and all that.

If you are going to torture yourself with the food at West Belconnen, the Stone Grill is probably the best way to go.

Stone grill is great. Myself and a group of 10 mates went out to West Belconnen a few weeks ago. Four people had steak and I was the only one to pay the extra $3 for stone grill.
Not only was mine a better quality steak, but it was served quicker. I sliced off small peices at a time and cooked it to my liking. No such thing as over done or under done.
Every mouthful was fresh, hot, and tasty. Also great for keeping the chips hot!!!!

The Coolabah Club in Kaleen used to do it.. they might still. Then again, it’s been that long I don’t even know if they still exist, let alone do it:P It says their ph:6241 2509

that’d be a stone paver

yes p1, you actually cook it on a tone ‘paver’ at your table

I like stone grill. For P1’s benefit, it’s where they bring out your steak (or chicken or prawns) on a very, very hot rectangle of stone. As you eat, you cook your meal. The big advantage is that you get to cook your steak exactly how you like it – plus it’s a bit of a novelty.

The Weston Club does it, however last time we were there Stonegrill was off the menu as they had a huge tree fall on the roof of the section where they serve. The staff weren’t too unhappy as apparently they are a good source of burns and are a bit of a b1tch to clean.

Is this stonegrill different from places that have a BBQ type thing that you cook your steak on?

+1 to grunge_hippy/motleychick … I’m a pretty ordinary cook and I’m certainly not going to pay to ruin a perfectly good meal 🙂

Agreed. Have had stone grill once before. It’s nothing special.

i’ve never understood why go out for dinner, and then have to cook it yourself. crazy.

The Eagle Hawk Hotel on the Fedral HWY just outside ACT border has it and last time a few of us had some it was great they even have sea food for stone grille.

I’ve been told the Vikings Town Centre Club has stopped doing stonegrill… they re-did their menu a little while back. They certainly have removed the stonegrill sign on Athllon Drive.

You can get Stonegrill at the Tuggeranong Town Centre Club (They had it last time I was there anyway). And you can also get it at the Weston Club (Commonly known by its former name “Royals”).

Vikings at Tuggeranong used to do it, I haven’t eaten there recently to know if they still do or not.

Weston Club has Stonegrill on the southside.
