Lost and found in Mitchell

ACT Policing is searching for a 12-year-old autistic boy reported missing earlier this evening (Tuesday, April 12).

About 3.45pm the father and son were in Mitchell when the son ran off along Flemington Road. The father searched for his son who has since been reported missing.

ACT Policing General Duties members from Gungahlin Station, Belconnen Station, City Station and members from Specialist Response and Security are searching for the missing boy.

He is described as Asian in appearance, wearing a blue Amaroo School jumper, blue polo shirt and blue track suit pants.

Anyone who may be able to assist police is urged to call ACT Policing on 131-444.

A 12-year-old autistic boy who went missing from Mitchell yesterday afternoon (Tuesday, April 12) has been located, safe and well.

About 4.30pm yesterday, the father reported his son missing after he ran off along Flemington Road, Mitchell and could not be found.

About 8.45pm last night ACT Policing were informed by staff at Coles Manuka that they have located the boy. He was shortly reunited with his family.

I know a lot of ‘normal’ adults that cannot get from Mitchell to Manuka in four hours. Glad to hear this story had a happy ending. I must admit though, the following quote came to mind:

Mitchell to Manuka??? Bus perhaps?
