Loud bangs south of Gungahlin?

By 3 September 2012 34

About 11am we heard a series of loud noises coming from somewhere south of Franklin- apparently they could also be heard in Civic.

Anyone know what’s going on?

What’s Your opinion?

Gungahlin is the jewel in the crown that is Canberra

What?? Crown jewels of Canberra??
Are you accusing Gungahlians of being dicks?

That would be ‘family jewels’ genius. And it usually refers to testicles not penises.

I farted. I’m sorry really about that, but all this attention being brought to it is making me embarrassed.

What have you been eating, boy? I assume you’re a boy, because although ladies fart, most of them don’t boast about it.

Ladies? Fart? Oh Poetix…say it isn’t so!!

That’s what I’ve heard…

As opposed to complaining about your neighbours living 5k away in Gungahlin?

You still left out the bit about downgrading block size and having to live so close to your neighbour you can borrow sugar just by leaning out your kitchen window and reaching into their pantry to take it.

Yard slave – throw away the mower – throw away the ersatz kinship with the land – it’s not real. I’m not sure what you do with your land and if you are happy with a profligate lifestyle that’s fantastic but please don’t try through some sense of unresolved guilt to force me to be wasteful too.

🙂 you don’t have to be bitter, you can move out here and live a better life

Yeah I am pretty sick of tending my massive garden and nature strip. I’d downgrade, but the time I save not mowing and weeding I’d spend in traffic trying to cross the Barton highway and complaining about my noisy neighbours living 100cm away 🙂

what – removing G-land from Canberra with a series of explosions? Nice idea!!!

+1

Well they could start by demolishing every house that is not correctly solar orientated or built too close to their neighbours (which is all of them).

They would have to use explosives because they could never get a bulldozer into Nicholls, Palmerston, Ngunnawal or Amaroo on those narrow tiny roads.

Trolling Gungahlistanians does no good because we are a happy lot of people who care not where others live.

Yeah it is probably a waste of time trying to troll you lot because you are too busy stuck in traffic driving to & from work to respond.

You guys must have great community spirit living in such close quarters to each other. I’m just jealous because of how lonely my family gets living on our big block we got cheap in an established suburb with proper roads that are not covered in parked white commodores.

Seriously, those houses are so close together you could run down any street jumping from roof to roof. After all there is only what 80cm between each house.

I know – it’s ridiculous – spending all that money building a nice (although shoddily-constructed) 4-BR house and sticking it on a worthless little postage-stamp sized bit of sheep paddock like that. What is wrong with people?

It was probably the sound of two next door neighbours opening their laundry doors at the same time and smashing into each other.

Or someone trying to fit a bin down the side of their house and having it bang into the wall and fence at the same time.
