My wife and i were both woken by some very loud noises this morning in Ngunnawal between 2am and 3am, ive talked to the neighbours and they heard them too. Anyone know what it was? Hard to explain what it sounded like, but sort of like a few explosions or banging of some sorts. a few together at about 2 am and then some more at about 3.

At some point over the long weekend (can’t remember which night specifically) someone was letting off fireworks at about 2 and 3 am – I could see them from my backyard. I assume they were in the walkway across from Ngunnawal School off Unaipon.

I was awake at the time, at first I thought I was going insane but it sounded like some little rat bags had some fire crackers or car backfire, nothing major.

Could be Blasting at the Cotter………….

Yeah, at that time of morning? If they are, I wonder why no one has applied for an exploration mining license as yet.

That part of the works hasn’t started yet, and they would more than likely only blast during daylight hours.

Yeah, I heard it too. Not sure what it is, but we have heard similar noises of late. Our conspiracy theory was roo-culling.

People blowing up letterboxes!

Yeah thats likely. Are they blasting it with nuclear warheads now?

Sorry’
It was the earth moving for my wife.

Damn I’m good, oh yeah!!!

It’s not the first time. Last week, and the week before, someone has been letting off fireworks near the Ngunnawal Primary School on Wanganeen av, near the oval.
