That building they appear to be coming from has a huge breeze way though it from the courtyard/square/open place bounded by Auspost, CPS, Soul bar, commbank, etc.

That would be them returning after the initial evacuation, after which things got confused.
Aging Building Syndrome.

Lovett Tower is the tall one (formerly MLC Tower) and the people look like they are walking out of another building – maybe Centra Plaza?

no, it was lovett tower, from my source. probably millling round centra plaza and heading off to the mall for ‘errands’ or coffees.

i also heard that all occupants were later found deceased from gas poisoning, but that may have been a wind-up…

And the ESA writer strikes again; that’d be Lovett with an ‘e’.

at least they didn’t spell it MLC

The basement of Lovett Tower? That used to be a bar/tavern in the 1980s when it was still MLC Tower.

Workers are now back in the building, I’m told by one who works there.

+1. I note that the Wiki article has only one citation, which links to the wrong Lovetts. It was not named after a second-rate Essendon footballer. It was named after a family of ATSI soldiers who served in WW2.

“ACT Fire & Rescue are currently investigating smoke in a basement at Lovatt Tower, Keltie Street, Phillip.”

In a basement at Lovatt (sic) Tower? Last time I worked there, we only had one basement. It had been that way since the bulding was constructed in 1973. How many basements do they have now?
