Love in a time of Victorians

So apparently Victoria is a seething hotbed of pig sniffles.

And some in the community are afeared of all the school groups of Victorians bringing this affliction to the National Capital.

So if you are a moronic bedwetter then definitely be worried about it.

sepi, try wearing a facemask when you are attending the babies of the house. limits their exposure, and if you have a coughing fit, won’t release airborne droplets as much…

Yes – with the handwashing I’m trying to avoid passing the flu onto the babies of the house.

It is a lost cause tho between uncontrollable coughing and babies crying to be picked up.

If you follow the standard hygiene practices, you will reduce significantly the effects of this flu.

Peterh may have meant ‘we’ when he said ‘you’, unless sepi really is the Typhoid Mary of swine flu.

thanks, skid at least you knew what I meant.

hand washing won’t help much with your flu.

It just makes it less likely to catch it or give it to someone else.

I hope not. I have got the flu right now, maybe that’s why I keep reading obsessively about swine flu 🙁

Hygeine practices are all very well, but when you are coughing uncontrollably it is impossible to wash hands after every cough.

I hope you guys are right and it all fizzles into nothing. It is a good chance to test our procedures tho – with a few loopholes already discovered – like don’t let 2000 sick people off a cruise ship to go hang around airports the fly back to all different cities.

The Spanish flu in 1918 started out as a normal flu and turned deadly, so there is still reason to be cautious.

sepi, true, but the levels of hygiene and living conditions are far more enhanced than in the early 1900s.

It’s so Over the top! I just got back from the states 8 days ago, kept my son home from school for 7 days and now the chances are higher that he will get it since he’s back in school. It’s the flu, it’s not going to kill most people. I’m really over it.

I’m off to Melbourne tomorrow.

Anyone attending State of Origin only deserves a possible session of quarantine?

Purge them with cleansing flame!

Having spent enough time in melbourne to be a card carrying pig flu carrier, I can happily confirm that all this paranoia is a load of bollocks. Its a strain of the flu that has been around since the early 1900’s. Those who are older than their mid-teens have nothing to worry about, as we probably have already had an H1N1 strain previously.

The young pups are copping a floigging cos they haven’t had this strain before and their immune system is not up to scratch.

And for the record, yes I have been to Canberra lately and i may have sneezed on you.
