Buyers have an opportunity to make the most of a purple patch in Canberra’s property market, with new city apartment prices remaining stable compared to skyrocketing detached house prices.

One-bedroom apartments in the new Aspen Village, overlooking Lake Tuggeranong, are selling off the plan from $301,900, while two-bedroom apartments start at $434,900. Geocon sales agent Adam Morgan says this is “super affordable” when compared to buying a home in the suburbs.

Construction on the 12-storey Aspen Village is well underway and is due for completion towards the end of 2022.

Adam says 77 per cent of the apartments in stage one have already been sold off the plan.

“There’s a big appetite for modern, luxury apartments that offer a village lifestyle in the city, and this has been reflected in the number of sales thus far,” he says.

“This is one of the last opportunities to buy a new apartment in Greenway that is super affordable.

“Apartment prices haven’t caught up to the spiralling free-standing home prices yet so it’s a purple patch for downsizers and new home buyers looking to get into the property market.”

Adam says many young professionals working in the nearby government precinct are looking to buy their first home in the Tuggeranong area where they grew up to remain close to family.

“It’s a fantastic location with the lake and bushwalking trails close by, but you’re right in the middle of the [Tuggeranong] CBD with lots of new restaurants and cafes creating a great vibe on the main street,” he says.

“The Aspen Village ground floor is commercial and we’ve secured a gym and supermarket chain so you can enjoy the outdoors and the shopping centre. Or you don’t have to leave the precinct to grab a loaf of bread or catch up with friends.”

Aspen Village is much more than an apartment building. It’s a unique lifestyle opportunity on Canberra’s ‘unspoilt natural fringe’ with everything at your fingertips.

The precinct itself offers fabulous communal spaces, including a 1000-square-metre rooftop terrace with views over Lake Tuggeranong to the Brindabella Ranges.

“Nestled among the rooftop gardens is an amazing infinity edge pool with panoramic views over the Tuggeranong Valley to the snow-capped mountains,” says Adam.

“It’s got a real alpine chic vibe, with a sauna, bath house and breakout areas peppered with gardens.

“These are the kind of luxury communal features people want when they buy an apartment in the city.”

When you’re not lazing by the resort-style pool or sweating your worries away in the sauna, Aspen Village also offers a chef’s kitchen, private dining room for up to 12 people and The Summit, an outdoor entertainment space for residents and their guests to enjoy.

The development layout was inspired by Aspen ski villages, while the apartments have a contemporary ‘Scandi’ feel with stone benchtops, stainless kitchen appliances and natural elements throughout.

“You get that feeling of being in a ski resort, with loads of glass and light, and the sprawling outlook of the mountains,” says Adam.

Aspen Village is less than two hours from Jindabyne and the Perisher snowfields, and offers the ideal turnkey opportunity for anyone who loves to duck down to the snowfields during winter, or venture to the NSW South Coast during the summer months.

“The apartments offer contemporary city living with the option to lock up and take off for weekends, or – when we can travel again – head overseas without worrying about home maintenance,” says Adam.

“For young executives, it’s an amazing place to be able to walk or catch a bus to work, stroll to restaurants, or have friends over to make the most of the amazing communal areas.”

Aspen Village consists of 622 apartments across 12 storeys and is being built in two stages, with a display office onsite in Anketell Street, Greenway.
