ACT Policing is investigating a suspicious fire which occurred in Lyneham yesterday afternoon (Tuesday, February 14).
Around 4.30pm police were called to a fire in Owen Crescent, Lyneham. ACT Fire and Rescue trucks were already in attendance.
As ACT Ambulance officers arrived at the scene, they located a 49-year-old woman on Northbourne Avenue, in a highly distressed state. She had suffered burns to her arms and face. She was taken to The Canberra Hospital where she was treated for her injuries.
The unit complex did not suffer any structural damage however the first floor was badly burnt.
AFP Forensics is attending the scene and will conduct an examination.
Police are asking any witnesses who were in Owen Crescent at the time, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.
