It’s sad to see the Lyneham Shop’s noticeboard has been outlawed.

It used to be a great read – Gig posters, things for sale, services on offer, animals lost, things for free. Now it’s just an empty wall.

WHY?! What harm was it causing?

OCCUPY LYNEHAM WALL!

I suppose it wouldn’t be a great look for the government to provide a $10,000 concrete block, only to have people continue to stick stuff up on a wall that was already there.

They probably figured that with the new Government one near the carpark the IGA one wasn’t necessary any longer.

Now that looks much better! Much easier on the eyes.

Presumably the sign shown in the photo says don’t post any signs?

I used to read the noticeboard quite a bit too. Seems slightly odd to have it removed, unless there’s an alternate version coming soon (noting there is already one of those concrete obelisk thingys a few metres away).

That is a real shame. I don’t normally read notice boards or bill posters but several times while walking through Lyneham shops i did see posters that interested me and I have attended concerts and films i have found out about there.
What was the reasoning?
