Not worth investigating arsonists who set things alight in the middle of the day? Riiiight.

Okay, perhaps if they were to catch them, there would be a benefit. But in the real world, what does the investigation get us?

To catch them, police have to investigate. Plenty of CCTV around McD’s. Gotta try at least.

Well, the investigation is a way of figuring out who did it and then ‘catching them’.

“McDonalds restaurant”? We have a new oxymoron.

They even call them Family Restaurants! Always thought the same.

I’d like to see a cost/benefit analysis of having the firies attend and police investigate instead of just having some bozo put it out and no one investigating it… but undertaking the analysis wouldn’t be very efficient now, would it…

The benefit is if deliberate, catching these freaks. Pyros tend to have other psychological issues, but regardless, even if they stick to lighting fires, we have a fuel load in parts of the state not seen in 30-40yrs. Better to nab them before they join those twits in the Blue Mountains.

I suspect that concern is that the idiot(s) who started this fire in a public place during the middle of the day are fairly likely to set fire to other things in the future.

Probably just the gates of hell opening as Maccas pays its annual subscription.

Probably someones ciggie that was thrown out a car window…
