rambo

Its that time of the year when amateur numismatists and tourists travel to the Royal Australian Mint here in Canberra to punch out special dollar coins available only to visitors.

Its good to see rambo making another appearance on an Australian coin (all be it on a higher denomination).

It costs $3 to produce the special one dollar coin but hey you’ve got to spend money to make money.

mirage3; I think you mean shilling (twelve pence). A florin was two shillings.
Both had a very high silver content compared to our decimal coins made of Aluminium Copper and Nickel.

In my day t’was a florin.
