A 34-year-old man remains at large after fleeing a Livingston Avenue, Kambah residence in a blue Subaru WRX sedan yesterday, ramming a police car, colliding with a carport causing the roof to collapse and hitting a police motorcycle as well as narrowly missing the officer.

Police did not pursue the vehicle. Two officers at the scene were subsequently injured during the process of arresting a 24-year-old Kambah woman and the male resident (a 23-year-old man) of the house.

One of the two injured officers was transported to the Canberra Hospital by ACT Ambulance Service.

Police had arrived at the scene just before 4pm yesterday in relation to First Instance Warrants for the woman and the 34-year-old man.
They immediately identified the blue Subaru WRX sedan as a vehicle of interest in the carport and parked their marked police car in the driveway directly behind it. The ramming occurred shortly afterwards.

The man and woman were conveyed to the ACT Watch House and were due to face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning. The woman was to appear on a First Instance Warrant and for failing to appear after a bail undertaking. The man was to face court for knowingly obstructing/resisting a territory public official.

Police are still seeking to arrest the 34-year-old man who is described as of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance, about 168cm (5’6” tall), with a slim build, a shaved head and brown eyes.

Police are urging anyone who may have seen this man or the blue Subaru WRX sedan to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via act.crimestoppers.com.au using reference number 6031783. Information can be provided anonymously.

Police remind readers they should not report crime information via Facebook and Twitter.

There are rumours going around that somebody was shot by SWAT (or whomever the equivalent is) this morning in Chisholm. They had a silver/green WRX. Hard to tell because a door was blown off the car. The whole street is blocked off.

was this at 92 or 94 livingston street or elsewhere?

was only weeks ago the above address had a full suite of coppers there and the drug dogs doing their thing.

Poor Kambah, last month it was nominated as a leading mortgage stress suburb, this month it is featured as a crime nest.

Perhaps the new Labor/Greens minority government could implement urban renewal there, starting in Livingstone Crescent.

Whys is there no name or photo? Who were the police trying to arrest given they had a warrant they didn’t have a name?
