Man charged over alleged rape at Parliament House

A 26-year-old man is facing charges over an alleged sexual assault at Parliament House in March 2019.

Police will allege the man had sexual intercourse without consent.

Police say they have spoken to a number of witnesses in relation to the investigation.

The man is scheduled to appear before the ACT Magistrates Court on 16 September 2021.

The charge of sexual assault without consent carries a maximum penalty of 12 years’ imprisonment.
