A man in his 20s has suffered life-threatening injuries after his Holden Commodore ran into a tree in Campbell on Saturday afternoon (August 18).

At 1:38 pm, ACT Fire & Rescue and ACT Ambulance Service responded to the single vehicle accident which occurred on Morshead Drive.

Firefighters extricated the man from his vehicle and intensive care paramedics treated him on the scene for life-threatening injuries.

He was then transported to Canberra Hospital where he is undergoing medical treatment.

ACT Policing are investigating the accident. There were road closures earlier this afternoon in Fairbairn Avenue, Pialligo Avenue and Kings Avenue but they have now been cleared.

Police also closed the eastbound lane of Morshead Drive near Duntroon on Sunday morning (19 August) for several hours while they continued their investigation.
