A 36-year-old man was arrested on drug-related charges after police executed a search warrant in Wright on Monday.

At about 9.45am, officers from Woden apprehended the man after he was acting suspiciously and located in possession of valium and drug paraphernalia.

Further investigations revealed the man was involved in the trafficking of methylamphetamine. Subsequently, a search warrant was obtained.

About 7.30pm police entered a house in Wright, where they seized 50 grams of a substance believed to be methylamphetamine, another substance believed to be amphetamine, cannabis, additional drug paraphernalia and a sum of cash.

The man was taken to the ACT watch house, where he was charged with possessing a prohibited substance.

He was scheduled to face the ACT Magistrates Court on this morning (Tuesday).
