Simon Corbell has announced the appointment of Maria Doogan and Ken Cush as special magistrates:

“I am pleased to announce that Ms Maria Doogan and Mr Ken Cush have been appointed for twelve months,” Mr Corbell said.

“The ACT Government has acted quickly to respond to the need to fill the gap between David Mossop taking up his appointment as Master of the Supreme Court and the process for appointing a new permanent Magistrate to replace him. The appointments will also provide some flexibility over the medium-term in relation to the Magistrates Court’s workload.

“Ms Doogan spent 14 years as an ACT Magistrate and is very familiar with the work of the Magistrates Court.

Mr Cush has extensive experience in the role given his previous appointment as Special Magistrate.
