The NCA reports that they’re putting Marist College kids to work today:

The Year 9 students from Marist College Canberra will assist in maintaining some of Australia’s culturally significant areas.

The students will collect litter and sticks from Anzac Parade and Stirling Ridge, and clean the Australians of the Year Walk memorials.

The community service day was organised by Marist College Canberra, in conjunction with the National Capital Authority.

A nice day to be out of the classroom.

Good onya Year 9’ers from Marist and your teachers! Community spirit is alive and well!

Anyone first see this on the Recent Comments column and misread this as “Marxist kids put to work for the NCA”?

I wonder if they’ll meet Melissa Emely Grant.

Sounds like a premeptive strike. Get them doing community service BEFORE they commit the crime, or is it that NCA know something that the courts haven’t been to convict them for yet?

I would have complained but private school darlings……GET OUT THERE AND START PICKING UP THAT RUBBISH!!

I was part of a group of school kids in the 70’s that cleaned out ‘G for George’, the Lancaster Bomber in the War Memorial. I don’t know if I would be as thrilled to emu-bob public parks though. It’s still a day off school I suppose.

Child labour…!
