Last night Labor’s Mark Kulasingham (Molonglo) took a swing at our candidate challenge for the 2012 election.

Having gotten in at the donor stage Mark nominated Digress in Civic and we had a star studded audience of Labor luminaries filling out the audience, perhaps drawn in by the promise of a bar tab.

Mark’s priorities included: Community, Sustainable new developments, Park and ride, the Walk-in Centre at the hospital, Free wifi, a shark called Jeremy bearing down on the wreck of the SS Seselja, Green spaces in Civic, Bike racks, outdoor dining, very large ice creams, Inclusion of senior citizens, bollards for buildings, schools, cemeteries, a hollow liberal party HQ, and a really big megaphone.

But don’t take my word for it, he explains all in the video.

The next one is tonight! The Charnwood Labor Club is hosting Yvette Berry (Labor from Ginninderra) and we’ve been promised a function list for non members who’d like to come and have a look.

(Candidates who haven’t slotted themselves in are advised that there will be no candidate challenges after 28 September so they better get in quick, email john@the-riotact.com )

Here’s our nifty calendar:

So far the clearest and best presentation of their ideas by he candidate imho and also what looks like the most well thought out in advance idea of what they wanted to do compared to other candidates, I think Mark has set the bar to beat so far in the challenge.

I just found some more lego in the garage, it would have been great for this, mountain boards and everything, oh well.

For a moment I thought a Kardashian was a candidate, then I realised how tired I am.

Well done Kula!

Nice to see/hear all the ACT Labor candidates support keeping open the very popular nurse-led Walk-In Centre. What was Mr Hanson thinking when he said the ACT Liberals would shut it down???

While I’m hear, if anyone wants to find out more about Kula and our other great candidates, have a squiz at http://www.katygallagher.net under “Katy Gallagher’s ACT Labor Team”. We also have a facebook page and twitter account if they are your preferred conduits for following our candidates and their activities…. http://www.facebook.com/LaborSupportersinCanberra and @Canberra_Labor

p.s. Great choice in venue. I hadn’t been to Digress before and was very impressed. Great food too. I highly recommend their garlic naan.

Were you wearing a T-shirt, and how did that go with the tie?

Was there really a bar tab?

Aimed more at friends of Mark. He had people in t-shirts too. Very professional.
