Given how many readers will have had small amounts of cocaine and MDMA on them for a big night out it is definitely worth having a look at the sentencing of the unfortunate Marko Ljubic caught with 8 grams of stuff that had 2 grams of cocaine in it:

On the single count now arraigned against you, you are convicted. I fine you a sum of $750 to be paid within six months from today and direct that you enter into a Good Behaviour Order to be of good behaviour for 12 months and during that time, accept the supervision on probation of the Director of Corrective Services generally and specifically in relation to drug matters which may be transferred to New South Wales should you reside there. Further, you will submit, during the period of that supervision, to urinalysis as and when required by Corrective Services on such occasions as you attend supervision.

Don’t do the line if you can’t afford the fine

So not only is he a dealer, he’s selling s*** quality gear hats probably been jumped on about 4 times.

He ‘only’ has six months to pay off the $750: isn’t that an infringment of his human rights????

One day earlier, Higgins dismisses the evidence for the 1200 pills case against (I believe) the same person because he ruled the warrant was invalid.

The next day, when ruling on this case, he says:
“The cocaine was in six clip seal bags. Whether they were contained in the separate bags for any other reason than convenience I cannot say and I cannot assume anything else.”

If you can afford coke you can afford the fine.

I think that might be what the problem is.

Oh boo hoo, do the crime do the time. If you can afford coke you can afford the fine.

$750 and a 12 month GBB for 2g of coke? He could have murdered someone for that sentence!

Wouldn’t get the $750 fine for murder though..

So, is this then the same Marko Ljubic who had previously been arrested but the warrant found technically invalid…?

(Presumed due to common name and particulars, happy for someone to correct me…)

The level of incompetence displayed by the plod when attempting to nail someone for drugs is in many instances extraordinary. Here we have yet another example of which I am familiar with and know the individual involved
