In the wake of Maryanne’s search for a dog this morning Henry82 sent her an email and readers will no doubt be interested:
Hi Maryanne,
I read your advertisment for a cheap dog. Not sure if you realise but dogs aren’t cheap, they require food, vetenary visits, registration, grooming, as well as a truckload of time. Dogs can also live well over 15 years, so it is a long term committment. As you decribe yourself as broke, i would strongly suggest a plant, which are house trained, and won’t bite at your cables. To get a house trained dog for $10 is unrealistic, even the RSPCA dogs are $300, which are chipped/desexed etc.
regards
Henry

Hi Henry,
Yeah I got a call from the RSPCA. I removed the ad!! That is a bit rude. I’m capable of looking after a living thing. I have plants, that are good in drought conditions that I water every two days, two cactuses and a aloe vera plant. Actually RSPCA suggested a cat, which I will get, maybe. I was probably over thinking companion as the only friend in my real life who ever was nice to me is in jail for a couple of months so wanted to replace him until he got out.
Regards,
Maryanne
P.S. I know animals have to be fed and walked daily. I’m not broke I’m on a centrelink pension and I’m looking for work to get more money anyway.
Which shows a high level of proactivity on the part of the RSPCA.
