Matt Giteau doesn't pay any attention (and yet somehow he knows)

The Canberra Times’ John-Paul Maloney is working hard to get in Matt Giteau’s good books with a lengthy soft interview in which the wizard gets to state his somewhat confused views on pretty much everything.

Apparently Matt and Bianca are getting away from us all with a holiday in the bankrupt construction site known as Dubai. I hope they have safe travels and a lovely time.

”One week they’re calling for your head, the next week ‘he’s the greatest player we’ve got, blah, blah, blah’. The media is a fickle thing. You play well one week and you’re on track for the World Cup. The next week you have a bad game and they say this team is a disaster,” he said.

”They’re paid to make comments like that, but as a playing group, I wouldn’t say we don’t respect them, but we certainly don’t pay any attention to them.”

For mine he still comes across as a bit grumpy. But hopefully a nice holiday will return him to us fully gruntled and doing his talking with the ball in hand.

To be fair…most of the rest of us don’t have our work performance critisised in international media. I’m sure Git (& others) don’t have any argument with having their performances appraised by their employers.

Poor Matty Giteau; it’s a tough life. It may surprise him that *any* person in *any* job will get criticised for poor performance one day and recognised for good performance on another.
