The woman died at the scene.

I didn’t think Mawson was fatal.

Or is the word you’re looking for “fatality”?

Re #6, what I wrote is what I meant. Life is cheap on our roads. Just look at the stats from every offence of the month campaign. I am not commenting on the actual circumstances of the incident just the overarching culture.

Not kidding. You try crossing this road with kids or if you are slow on your feet. Cars from the East you have to pick out through the trees as they come round the bend, often fast. Cars from the West often come flying up the hill over a blind summit.

Another sign that life is cheap on this town’s roads.

What the phuck is that supposed to mean? That the pedestrian thought their life was worthless? The driver thought oh what the hell, I’ll hit them anyway?

Had to do with a car heading west into the sun according to my source.

So if the driver’s vision was significantly affected and they made no attempt to reduce their speed as they would be required to then, potentially, they could be charged with negligent driving occasioning death.

What a shame. This is a dangerous road to cross as cars frequently speed and the curve of Mawson Drive makes cars difficult to see.

I came across this shortly after it happened, not even any ambos or police on scene yet. It is a shame for the loss of life.
But to this comment you’re kidding right? It is a incredibly wide road, and where this occurred was on the arrow straight stretch along the top if the hill. I’m still baffled how the car and woman didn’t see each other (even if speed was involved).
