Maze or similar between Canberra & Goulburn

While driving from Canberra to Sydney a couple of months ago, I seem to remember seeing a sign for a giant maze or something similar not too far out of Canberra

I have some people coming to visit next weekend who have an obsession with mazes… endless googling has proved fruitless, I cant seem to find any record of its existence.

So, does it exist or was I dreaming? If it does exist, is it worth going to?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,
Can anyone tell me the exact location of the Gunghalin Maze?

Yes, it starts at the sign that says “Gunghalin” and it’s quite big.

If Gungahlin is a maze, then Palmerston must be an “ugliest building” contest.

I once told a Gungers resident that Gungahlin was an open prison initiative of the ACT Govt…. and they believed me.

I once told someone that Gungahlin was aboriginal for “many roundabouts” …. and they believed me.

(I think it was a joke)

Drive up Flemington Road and turn right. The trick is to find your way out without retracing your path or consulting a map. Have fun!

Hi,
Can anyone tell me the exact location of the Gunghalin Maze?

Weston Park was decommissioned years ago – it was behind the mini railway near the trees (was good in it’s day) – sadly I think it is a dying form of entertainment.

if you like mazes a good one to visit is in Half Moon Bay, California at Arata’s farm – not an easy one and kept a few of us adults entertained for a good while trying to find the exit.

And I’ve never been able to find any trace of the maze in Weston Park.

The maze in Duntroon is getting on. Unless it’s been rejuvenated during spring, there are lots of holes and no “middle”.

Good to hear there’s a maze in Gungahlin.

There used to be a maze in Weston park in Yarralumla, but I don’t know if it still exists.
And there seems to be one at this location, S 35° 17.916 E 149° 09.925, but it isn’t giant.

Perhaps for the maze obsessed, though…

On a similar topic, someone told me there was a house on the median strip of the dual carriage way somewhere between canberra and sydney, has any one else spotted this?

The closest thing to this I can think of is a property at the intersection of Sutton Road and the Federal Highway.

There is a triangular strip of land probably 200-300 metres wide at its widest, enclosed on all sides by the Federal Highway, Sutton road and the Federal Highway access road.

Yes there is, it’s not far from the junction of the Federal and Hume highways, there’s a rest stop nearby, and the two carriageways are well apart. Google Maps satellite view will show it for sure.

Has the details for 2, Rachum’s the one you might be thinking of.
