There have been 12 reported cases of measles in Canberra over the past week the ABC is reporting.
The outbreak started at the Orana School in Weston where 8 of the 12 occurred.

The ACT’s chief health officer Paul Kelly says parents of unvaccinated children should be vigilant as measles is highly contagious.
“The incubation period for measles is typically 10 days,” he said.
“But it can be between from 7 to 18 days after being exposed. And yes, we do expect further cases.”

ACT Health says children who are not vaccinated should not return to the Orana School until the end of next week to avoid contracting the illness.
