Men caught burgling Canberra High

Two men, aged 21 and 22, were arrested by police for an aggravated burglary at a Macquarie school overnight.

Around 1am today (Saturday, September 8), Belconnen General Duties members attended The Canberra High School on Bindubi Street in Macquarie after a report that multiple alarms had been activated at the school’s science building.

While patrolling the school, police saw two men hiding behind the science building. The men ran and attempted to climb over a security fence at the school, however they were stopped and arrested by police.

The two men were taken to the ACT Watch House, where they will be charged with aggravated burglary and theft. They are expected to face the ACT Magistrates Court on Monday (September 10).

The fences keep out the random acts of vandalism that cost us a bomb every year.
What other low/no-monitor system could you put in place that would be cost effective, safe for kiddies to be near during school hours, and is legal?

For anyone wondering why it’s ‘aggravated burglary’ rather than just burglary, even though there’s no mention of a weapon or violence. The mere fact that they burgled the school in a pair is what makes it so.
