25 years after losing his leg to cancer as a 9 year old, skier, adventurer and all round top bloke Michael Milton recently announced on his website that he was pulling out of the Australian Cycling Team in what would have been his first Summer Paralympics.

The Chief Minister has just released media release wishing Michael the best as it appears he has been diagnosed with oesophageal cancer.

Michael, all the best from us at RiotACT as well. You are an inspiration.

Adversa Virtute Repello = with courage we face adversity

Woody Mann-Caruso11:04 am 13 Jul 07

There’s a joke about a one-legged man and an arse-kicking contest. This guy could kick all our arses with his leg tied behind his back, so here’s to kicking cancer’s arse one more time.

He’s one of Australia’s toughest blokes, and our very own Lance Armstrong, if anyone can beat cancer twice I’m sure he can.

Talk about life not being fair. How much can one man be expected to endure. Isn’t a leg enough.

I wish Michael, his family and friends, all the very best… Adversa Virtute Repello.
