ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an aggravated robbery outside the Commonwealth Bank in Fyshwick in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday, November 1).

Around 12.40am, a man had parked outside the bank on Collie Street and was withdrawing funds from the external ATM when he observed a small to mid-sized white vehicle pull up behind his car.

The man was approached by a woman who threatened him with a knife, at one point holding the weapon to his neck. A scuffle ensued during which the victim suffered cuts to his hands and cheek. The altercation ended when a man approached the pair and punched the victim in the nose.

The man and woman then demanded the victim withdraw more money from the ATM, however after several attempts the machine rejected the key-card and the offenders made off with a sum of cash.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the aggravated robbery in Fyshwick last night to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.

Not the screwing he was looking for?

Funnily enough there is a brothel a few doors down. The only reasons I can think of to be withdrawing money in Fyshwick at that time on a Tuesday is drugs or sex.

Oh har har har, hilarious.

For all we know he was a shift worker (plenty of bakeries and other businesses running ‘odd’ hours in Fyshwick) and needed to duck to the ATM just before or after his shift.

Extremely crappy thing to happen, sounds like he fought back and won some cuts and bruises for his trouble 🙁

Well people have parties just for that sort of thing, so while it may not be mine or your earl grey, clearly it suits some people.

Plus I can only assume they get hosed out every now and then for hygeine purposes.

While I can’t cite the stats, it’s recieved wisdom that there is less of a health risk from professionals than from the enthusiastic amateurs that populate our night clubs

Even if he was going to a brothel, so what?

Indeed. Visiting some of the establishments at Fyshwick is not something I’d be up for myself, but it’s convenient, safe and legal. And from what I’ve observed over many years, it’s a popular service. I don’t think we should be looking down our noses at the folks who want to make use of what’s available out there.

If want to boldly go where 50-60 men have boldy gone before you…..recently, Why not?

We cannot “assume” he was up to those things, he may have been out to buy 200 slurpees from a servo.

Too bad he didn’t stab the tart with her own knife.
