Went along to the National Film and Sound Archive to hear Pat Lovell deliver the Longford/Lyell lecture on her illustrious career – no mention of Mr Squiggle so I asked her and she said he had ruined her life!!…. I am very disappointed as this is her shinihg achievement IMHO

Quite a good lecture, I thought. I liked the film-clips. Especially the opening sequence of Truffaut’s ‘Day For Night’.

Mentioning Mr Squiggle would only have lowered the tone.

according to the caption on the picture, it took 15 years for her to figure out her life was being ruined…

If you need to understand the monochrome glory that was Miss Pat there is a photo here – http://www.abc.net.au/corp/history/galpost8.htm

Looking at the pattern on the dress, perhaps black and white was a sensible choice.

From my incredibly accurate memory :

Miss Pat was teh hotness; Mr Squiggle was gay; Blackboard was a grumpy carnt

seems that’s what I did!

Shouldn’t this story have been posted sideways, or upside down?

Seeing how we are on the Wikipedia train :

See’s to me she possible needs to thank Mr Squiggle a little more …..

I’m well aware of Mr Squiggle. I just questioned who Pat Lovell is, and why she is giving some lecture. Would it kill people who post stories to post a few more than 3 lines?
