ACT Policing are investigating the theft of property including motorbikes and electrical equipment, which were stolen during a burglary in Farrer last Friday (25 May).

Between 8:30am and 3:15pm last Friday, the Farrer house had been burgled while the occupant was away and a large amount of property stolen.

The stolen property included five motorcycles consisting of a red and white Husqvarna TE450, a blue Yamaha TTR230, a white and red Yamaha YZ250F, a green Kawasaki KX65 and an orange KTM 50. Also stolen were laptop computers, iPods and jewellery.

Detective Sergeant John Giles said that several search warrants have been executed in search of the stolen property.

“Police have been following a number of leads in relation to the burglary and have established that the stolen bikes have now been sold back into the local community.

“This is a timely reminder to the community that buying stolen goods is an offence and if found in your possession, you may be charged, regardless of whether you bought it from someone or not” Detective Sergeant Giles said.

Police are seeking further information in relation to the burglary and subsequent sale of stolen property and the current location of outstanding property.

Anyone who may be able to assist with the investigation is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
