Deli Marco

It’s been a while, but Mobile Office Reviews are back in full swing.

Johnboy and rode our bikes down to Dickson to try out Deli Marco as a place of business.

How was it?

Technology:

No public WiFi. However there were of power points along the walls inside, which if I’m to be honest is seeming to be much more important to me than free WiFi when deciding where to work. As long as the mobile coverage is fine I’m happy to use mobile internet rather than WiFi. if you don’t have access to mobile internet, or need WiFi for other reasons then this obviously won’t work for you.

The mobile coverage was fine.

Food:

Good! I had the salmon and scrambled eggs for breakfast. It was a far fancier breakfast than I needed or deserved, but I wolfed it down anyways to great satisfaction. It wasn’t a cheap breakfast, but I certainly didn’t feel like I had been overcharged.

It was delivered quickly too.

Productivity:

Nice. Sitting inside we weren’t bothered. Distractions were few.

The music was quiet, easy listening kind of music. Nothing too distracting. A lot of 70’s/80’s pop-hits.

Both Johnboy and I guiltily admitted to really enjoying it at points.

I did get a little distracted by singing along to Kate Bush on multiple occasions, but really I’d list that as a pro rather than a con.

Coffee/Tea:

Over to Johnboy:

Coffee comes is a great big mug which lasts and lasts, well made without being exceptional. The Peppermint tea was good and strong.

Not related to coffee or tea, but I had an orange juice and it was awful watery stuff.

Tasted like orange cordial.

Comfort:

Fine. Tables were big enough for the two of us, our laptops, our food, and our drinks. The chairs were fine, nothing special.

The place isn’t huge, but never felt too cramped, even when it was getting full around lunch.

Service:

Speedy and friendly. No complaints.

Other People:

A lot of people visit Deli Marco in the morning. It’s probably one of the busiest mobile office review venues we’ve checked out. The outside seating area seemed to be constantly surrounded by a sad fleet of smokers, but otherwise seemed pleasant. The indoor customers tended to be an older crowd. A lot of polite, yet excited chatter was going on, the place had a very friendly and happy vibe.

The people watcher in me wanted more variety and more action, the guy in me who just wanted to get his job done appreciated the more relaxed atmosphere.

Conclusion:

Great. The place scores well across all of our criteria, and Dickson is a nice place to spend some time. WiFi access would have been nice but is not a deal breaker, and the orange juice was horrendous, but over all a solid mobile office location.

I will return.

Where to next?

Keep hitting us with suggestions. We are listening!

For a bit of a lark why not try Queens Terrace Cafe, Parliament House.
