It’s Monday, time to rise and shine and point and laugh. Here are your bad parking photos for the week!

Send photos of poor parking efforts in to images@the-riotact.com, and be sure to include the name you want credited!

1. An anonymous reader sent in this stinker:

Had this little gem of a**holery on my phone for a while. This Aston Martin parks in the no parking areas everyday at an office in Kingston. Ill stay anonymous please.

I don’t know how to edit photos, but the sign visible at the front right of his car clearly says “No Parking”, so maybe it might be best to zoom the photo or highlight the sign somehow.

I guess rules and common courtesy don’t apply if your car is worth $200,000!

yuck

2. Busbooster was on fire this week:

Another day, another couple of d-bags who will park anywhere in Barton. I like to go out at lunch and tuck Kraft-coloured envelopes under people’s windscreen-wipers. Just for fun. Only the introduction of paid parking in the parliamentary triangle can STOP THIS MADNESS.

ewww

While waiting for her banana milkshake in the Subway at Weston Creek on Saturday, one of these hungry motorists was fretting about whether she was parked legally or not. I should have paused to tell her she was in a no stopping zone, but I was too busy trying to get out the door to get the photo.

3. Linda snapped this pic while heading into town for a churros:

Took this at civic pool during the multicultural festival and thought it was a good effort.

Yes I know I took my sweet arse time sending it through.

wow

4. BundyB had his eagle eyes trained on Hawker:

Found this delightful use of a Keep Clear zone in behind the Belconnen Soccer Club in Hawker last night. There were six cars when I was last in the area (a couple of weeks ago) but neglected to take a photo.

5. Rioter diamondbollocks had a close encounter with a bad parker:

Taken outside Zambrero at around 8pm last night. I was forced to climb in through the passenger side door and was thankful that my car has no centre console.

snug

6. Meagan noticed this ute marking its territory:

I spotted the driver of this ute park at Belco Westfield and saunter off sans pram. A row of trolleys backed up in the walkway meant that his bad parking blocked of pedestrians, particularly those bulky items like prams. Double ahole!

wowsers

7. Tina has gifted us this little gem:

Here is another one for your collection: funny looking taxi. And plenty of carparks quite close to where this person parked. Must have had some heavy items to get at Coles. Cause that is where he entered.

blerg

8. Rachel’s brother spotted this magnificent piece of work:

My brother snapped this one! For having a big car space and a small car this is a pretty poor effort!!!

egads

9. Mark gave us this mortifying park:

This effort was in the car park outside of the Macdonalds on Mort Street.

mortifying

10. Stuart has been staking out CISAC:

A series of photos from a couple of Saturday mornings at CISAC in Belconnen. This happens every Saturday morning. The irony is that many of these people would be there to work out in the gym, but refuse to park in the overflow parking and walk another hundred meters.

If you can buy an Aston Martin DBS of that era for $200K, make sure you buy two. That would be a steal!

Goddamn that is a sexy car.

You haven’t seen my Defender from behind…

‘ . . . normalisation of the complete disregard for the markings’ –
with reference to pic # 7 @ Chisholm shops: if I remember rightly, this area used to be an extremely well-utilised 15 minute parking area. It was changed to taxi rank a year or two ago, gawd knows why. I have never, ever seen a taxi there. Plenty of people resent this change of use and park there anyway. While not necessarily advocating civil disobedience in this instance, I can’t say I blame them, particularly in the early evening when the parking area is full.
I suspect taxis only swing by late at night when the shops are closed and the Tavern is lively, which seems to negate the need for a rank.

Not for poetix spotto as she said, any yellow car will do – and she’s the one who started it.

Maybe next thread we can play your version.

Anywho, it might be reversing, lights obscured by the sign.

I’m with stormboy.

A ‘spotto’ car has to be yellow AND moving.

Seems odd to aggravate people by parking like such a total wank-hat when a nice long key scratch could cost you a few grand. 😐

What’s your version of spotto entail? Growing up, ours only even concerned Beetles, punch buggys.

Any yellow vehicle is good enough for me.

Car has to be moving for both Spotto and Punch Buggy otherwise you copped one back…hard 🙂

Middle of last photo. Peeking out from behind sign…Spotto!

The subway Weston car parking is a given every day. Trouble is, to the right of that picture is the driveway for the business against that street AND the unit complex on the other side.

One lucky pundit who was lazy enough to park there illegally like the picture, was made to pay for all party’s costs for an accident when a car leaving that driveway was not able to see the car coming around.

The keep clear zone in Hawker (number 4) has been used for many years as parking. For a long time there was a chain across the access also blocking it.

This normalisation of the complete disregard for the markings is such that I never even thought of it as bad parking before (not that I have ever parked their myself, but I go past all the time).
