Monday night football returns to Canberra

The Canberra Raiders’ first home game of the 2010 NRL season is on this Monday night at 7pm.

The Raiders will be taking on the Brisbane Broncos and will be hoping for a repeat of last season’s visit by the Broncos to Bruce, when the Raiders dished out a 56-0 thrashing. Monday night football always draws a healthy crowd and hopefully there will be a large and vocal crowd in attendance.

As an aside, the Raiders have increased membership numbers by 20% this year, and membership packages are still available. For new members, a Greeneyed Gold membership (seat in the inner bowl for twelve home games, plus the usual merchandise) costs $210 for an adult, $150 for concession card holders and $475 for a family. Details are here.

I tried staying away to keep my bad luck at home, figuring I may have contributed to the last 3 losses by being there. Didn’t work. Congrats Raiders. Cost me top spot on the tipping ladder.

I totally agree rottweiler. What a great night !! Plenty of fighting spirit from the Raiders in holding off the Broncos as they clicked into gear in the second half.

Good to see ex Raiders ball boy Mark Webber enjoying himself out there also.

After spending a fortune on games last year me and the family became green eyed members this year so last night the kids and hubby all in green and myself in maroon we headed to Canberra stadium and totally enjoyed first home game well done Raiders for put on a great game and beating my beloved Broncos yet again, and for the shame of making me drive home with raiders flags out of the sunroof LOL can’t wait for your next game home game easter w/end.

Good on you champ, great post you drop kick…

Your contribution was so much better…

Raiders consistently stuff my tipping every season. I wouldn’t be surprised if they won by 30 or lost by 30. You never know which Raiders will turn up; supporting them must be torture.

Nothing like supporting your team GA

Staying through the woeful first half was “supporting my team” enough. And was mainly so I could express my thoughts at them as they went into the tunnel. Perhaps you forget how crook they were? Hunt was still collecting wages but couldn’t be bothered playing. But then most of them weren’t any different. The hardest working person was Alfie, and he wasn’t even meant to be out there.

I was at that dreadful game last year After 5 minues of the second half, it was clear there had been no rallying of the troops in the locker room and we bailed. Could not believe how far the scored ballooned before we even go to the car…

Looking for turned tables this time around.

Good on you champ, great post you drop kick…

The membership will drop boy 30% once they win the wooden spoon
