Monday parking, after lunch edition

My apologies Rioters!

I know many of you have trouble starting your working week without the sweet endorphin rush that comes from checking out the bad parking photos on a Monday morning, but circumstances lead to me being out of the office all morning, so you’ll have to deal with getting it after lunch.

If your employer has given you grief because you are not your usual super productive self this Monday, tell him it’s my fault.

Don’t feel like you need to take the hit for me, I can handle it.

Ahem, back on topic.

Perhaps you have procured a perfect picture of poor parking?

Send it to images@the-riotact.com!

Be sure to include what name you would like to be credited by and the work ‘parking’ in the subject.

1. The unfortunately named Sheep Groper kicks us off this week with this flashy little red number:

Tuggeranong some weeks ago, driver must have been in a hurry for his camping supplies.

2. The also unfortunately named Batpiss Spermaid spotted this monstrosity while out and about:

3. A two-hit-combo from Rioter Sandcaw:

Thought you might appreciate the fab parking spotted today in Weedon Close, Belconnen. You don’t even need to block out the plate!!

I think this one is my favourite though -spotted in Dunlop.

4. Martin has been patrolling the school of music:

I have attached pics of a casual park from the ANU carpark next to the School of Music on Tuesday evening for your Monday parking round-up. if only the car was white it’d be perfect!

5. Robyn and/or Greg sent us this classy park:

Parking at 9.30am on One-way section of Nangari St. Yes, the vehicle is stationary – and vacant.

6. Another Greg sent us this lovely image of the cops policing their own lawn:

Police actually ticketing for the perennially bad parking around Westfield Belconnen. The ute, blue car and white sports car were all parked inside a taxi zone.

7. Bill caught this parking crime:

Seen outside the Erindale theatre, Saturday afternoon – I was trying to drop a disabled person for a show that was on. They were parked there for hours.

8. Watson has some justifiable rage:

I actually took these on Friday 14/6, but temporarily lost my memory card. This happens every day that I go there to pick up my daughter. Usually there is more than one car parked right near the pedestrian crossing, but I was a bit late on that day. On the pic that shows the road you can see how cars have to drive over the line to look around the car to see the other side of the school crossing. And even then, you don’t get any kind of view of the footpath to one side, so if a child were to dart across, you’d only see them once they enter the road.

I contacted Parking Operations about this, but from their responses, I gather that they don’t book people if they stay with their car, as they often do there. They wouldn’t tell me as such though and quoted confidentiality of internal policy procedures. They also tried to diminish my concern about a child getting hit on that crossing.

I called the police next but they said I had to call them back at the time when it is happening.

These are parents parking there! I don’t often feel road rage, but I very nearly got out of the car to punch the driver behind me on the nose when he beeped at me because I was so slow going across the crossing (because I couldn’t bloody get a clear view). He had just entered the road behind me after having been parked on that median strip himself!!!

At Tuggeranong Hyperdome carpark last Friday night shopping. Taking up 2 car spaces when it’s a packed out car park!

Seriously? The police could make a fortune staking out this school!!

What school is it in #8?

Majura Primary. Knox Street, Watson.

What school is it in #8?

Could swear I’ve seen #2 in person, parked up on the kerb in one of the apartment blocks on Northborne. Couldn’t get a pic at the time 🙁

Derp, spotto #2!

#3.2 would be a nice setup for some bush mechanic underbody work. You’d almost have enough space to get under and drain your oil parked like that, very cool!

An Isuzu truck in a party dress.

I don’t know why you bothered blanking out the plate for #2; there’s only a couple of wankers getting around in canary yellow hummers (interestingly, around the inner-north) .. I even saw an orange one the other day. Seriously, you must have the tiniest member to buy a car that screams “are you looking at me yet”?

#9 has been seen before, I believe… I caught him in Erindale! http://the-riotact.com/april-fool-monday-parking/99367

Some days I’m ashamed to live in Tuggeranong.

as our newly reminted (base 12) kevin 11 might say, fair suck of the sauce bottle. no.s 2 is a hummer after all; it can park where it wants, no?

So which came first? Did the owner buy a hummer because he couldn’t park, or can he not park because he’s in an oversized hummer.
