Oh no! It’s Monday!

Well back to work everyone… and by work I mean back to looking at photos of people parking poorly.

It’s a hard knock life.

If you’ve got some shots of people parking badly send them in to images@the-riotact.com.

Be sure to use the word “PARKING” in the subject line and let us know what name you would like to be credited with.

1. Zeital opens for us:

Here is one from the back of Woden. Double whammy.

I've got to break free.

2. Sheep Groper has two bad parks, and one bad parking space for us this week:

I walked past the chemist, and looked for a parking space at Tugg Bunnings on Saturday
morning – first time I’ve been there and had to look for a free space.

Everyday! They say I'm going crazy.

The little Civic computer shop that became a car parking spot one Saturday night (and featured in the Moanday parking thread a few days later) has moved upstairs. Presumably in the hope that cars, unlike Daleks, can’t negotiate stairs.

YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH

3. Golden-Alpine intruded on a private moment:

These two were caught all kissy kissy in the carpark of Gungahlin Village. They really are touching!

Somebody find me somebody to love.

4. Butters has a spread for us:

Cooleman Court, Weston Creek on a rainy Sunday afternoon/night.

Here I stand. Now I'm here. I'm just a... Just a new man...Yes you make me live again.

5. Holden Caulfield sees no reason:

This car is on parked on this corner all the time. The owner may have a permission to do so for all I know, but that doesn’t mean this photo shouldn’t be shared.

America's new bride to be!

6. Chas imagines how things went:

“Oh, look honey, I found all these empty spots in the front row. How about I take two?”

Go Go Go!

7. GerryBuilt explains:

Because… F-you…

It's America

8. James found him:

Found this person parked at the rear of calwell shops.

We're all waiting for today.

9. Red points out the best bit:

Taken on Allar st.

What Taxi rank full no worries I just park on the side walk.

The best part the drive was standing in the middle on the street smoking.

The one things we're all waiting for is peace on Earth, and an end to war.

In Belconnen mall.
So what is it with parking over the line? It seems little car thinks it’s a big car.

I can dim the lights...

And then in twice in one day the only spot available next to someone over the line.

As you can see the ford…. Not like the space isn’t big enough to start with, he was half way out of the spot too.

Hey boy where did you go? School of lover boys. Just take me back to yours that will be fine.

10. Richard shares with us his Belconnen Mall series:

The Belconnon Mall series were taken on two separate days. it seems to be a popular spot.

One card short of a full deck. This kettle is boiling over. I'm going slightly mad. It finally happened, I'm slightly mad.

The people parked in Purdue St were celebrating the Australian lifestyle. It was a 30 degree day, so why park legally in the sun (where there were plenty of spaces) when you really want a space in the shade.

Just very slightly mad. And there you have it. Open up your mind and let me step inside. It's so easy when you know the rules. All you have to do is fall in love.

Finally in the Walder st photo, she had decided to park there so she could pick up some furniture from the Salvos.

Play the game.

11. Aeek lets the image talk:

From the edge of the road.

12. Madam Cholet gives people what they deserve:

Noted this parking effort in Tuggers Homeworld car park. It’s a car park that already causes much consternation with the regular flouting of the one way rule, but this lady wanted to also a) park and wait across spaces reserved for people taking their driving tests and b) do this in a car park that was half empty. I think she knew when she saw me take the pic where it might end up. Some obviously deserve their 15 minutes of fame.

Flash Gordan's alive?

13. Johnboy suggested I leave the number plate visible on this one, and I listened. Besides if this is who I think it is, he’ll be able to take care of it:

I decend upon your Earth from the skies!

14. Coolrunning0 seen it:

Seen at Canberra Hospital the other week.

Oh I do like to be beside the seaside.

Seen at Griffith shops last week.

I do like to be beside the sea!

And a two for one shot at Mawson shops recently.

Tiddle-di-um-pum-pum!

15. Grump put his own RiotACT labels on this one:

Taken yesterday 6/11. In the first one the red car seems to have been pushed across by car to its left forcing me to edge of my ‘slot’ on the right. Little effort by female driver of the red car to square up though. At the far right of this line is the 2nd picture who drove in as I walked by after taking the first pic! A large 4×4 tried to squeeze in the space there moments later but gave up (3 pics in 1 minute was too much to ask!)

One soul. One real decision.

16. Sarah is unimpressed:

Outside the Gungahlin Veterinary Hospital- a BMW taking up two car parks.

One one one one

17. Paul! exclamation mark:

Bunnings Tuggeranong on a very busy Sunday.

Does anybody know what we are looking for?

Another Sunday boofhead at Bunnings Tuggeranong on a very busy day.

The show must go on!

18. Bubz ain’t no sheep:

And here we are in Dickson with a double hit.
Because parking legally, less than 50m away is so mainstream…

They're turning me upside down.

19. Astrojax is a fan of the filter:

saw this excellent example of I can park here cause I wanna outside the Zeffirelli pizza place behind doctors in belco today – was there at least an hour and I only snapped it having seen someone with it twice before it was alone after my gp appt and shopping excursion. thanks dude.

Wish it could last forever.

outside the ottoman in Barton (and right opposite the afp hq!) I spotted this odd looking motor cycle…

Taking in all this misery, but giving it all my soul.

the thing about the spot with the red ute in #2 and the white van in #17 is that despite seemingly parking across two spots, there’s actually no line in the middle. you can see it on google maps – http://s9.postimg.org/kfnlkfarj/Capture.png

exact same thing exists in the car spot that’s right next to the pedestrian crossing near the garden entrance. perhaps the line painters ran out of paint…..

similar deal with the van in #15, clearly the line markings are out of whack, so at least by parking close to the gutter he’s providing some space for another spot. unless perhaps there’s a motorcycle parking component to this?

disappointed not to see any gulia though…two weeks running, she must have given her staff driving lessons!

11 is prepared for all eventualities – boat for floods, bikes for when the world’s oil reserves run out.

#6 is the one that amazes me, because you know they’ve tried to park in the lines and then said, bugger it, that will do there are heaps of other spots.

I just fail to understand why parking is so difficult for some people. Isn’t that the point of getting a license top test ones ability to drive. I suspect though some get passed and then never improve, get a bigger car and get worse and its all downhill…..

# 9 – “What Taxi rank full no worries I just park on the side walk.”

In my country we call them footpaths.

From page 10 it skips straight to 19 (using “Next page”). Fix it, Barcham, before JB flogs you. 🙂

and what’s wrong with redirection to page 19?? 🙂

#11. I didn’t submit this as a bad parking photo, just because I though it was cute, like a cat cuddling its bird friend.

Hmmm… the ‘next’ button on page 10 took me straight to page 19…
