Monopoly board locations

It seems that Hasbro have got not idea whatsoever about their own game “Monopoly”.

On their website they’re asking us to vote for locations to go on the upcoming Australian edition of the game about real estate development.

So where are the prime locations to build a hotel in Canberra? Commonwealth Avenue perhaps? London Circuit? Empire Crescent? Canberra Avenue?

Nope, they’ve got “Lake Burley Griffin”, “Canberra”, “Anzac Parade”, “Tindbinbilla”, and the “Cotter Reserve”.

WTF?

According to the Australian some moron in the ACT Government was likely responsible for this brain damaged selection. Queensland seems to have fared little better.

ralph must’ve been stealing jaffas from VWs again

Ralph, I have never disagreed with what you’ve said, but I must say I’ve never been assaulted at random by a Sudanese.

that way we can also include Ros kelly’s blackboard.

If you are talking iconic Canberra Pubs, surely the one that most Aussies (well punters) will remember is the Private Bin, due to the Fine Cotton drama.

There is no such place as the Charnwood Tavern, except perhaps in dreams:)

I think Anzac Parade is a good choice. Not surprisingly, it’s currently in the lead by a fairly healthy margin.

Charnwood Tavern/Chisholm Tavern..it’s a shame Burnie Court and Baringa Gardens have gone, they would have been a cert.

But I already HAVE an Australian monopoly, complete with koala token. I dont need a new one!

Charnwood, surely?

ainslie village

Havelock House – good place to build a shiny new hotel…

Or the “You have failed three drug tests, which is in breach of your bail conditions” Get Out Of Jail Free Card

Community Chest card;

you have been invited to a same sex civil union, please pay 10 Aussie pesos, and take a 30 year step back in time.

I would have thought “Parliament House”, “National War Memorial” or even “Telstra Tower” should have been in that list.

“Fyshwick” would have been good to put in the ‘red’ properties along with ‘Kalgoorlie’ in WA and ‘Hindley Street’ in Adelaide …

Add the following to the chance pile:

“Native title claim”; and

“You get assaulted at random by Aboriginal/Sudanese/Lebanese”

Also, how about Amber Jane Westin’s house?

How about the Alexander Maconochie Centre?

Fuck I hate that name.

JB,

“In October, it asked all state premiers and chief ministers to nominate five areas for consideration.” from the Australian.

I would suggest that said ‘moron’ was merely following Hasbros request to nominate emminent locations, rather than streets.

Australia Zoo ?
Oh fucking save me.
Unless of course, you can use a Stingray, as your vehicle for moving round the board…

oaks estate

what about Queanbeyan.
they can use that for those little dodgy purple squares.. or the place right next to the jail…
